PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a novel high functional granular material to which a high functions are given by controlling the shape and the structure of mica-based powder and a method of manufacturing the same.;SOLUTION: In a droplet process for using physical phenomenon that the drying of a dispersion medium in the droplet occurs from the periphery of the droplet when the droplet of a liquid material prepared by dissolving or dispersing a granular material selected from a material which is sericite, hydrous aluminum potassium silicate, layered silicate, mica or clay mineral and has following physical and chemical properties of (1) a composition of ≤60% SiO2, ≥30.0% Al2O3 and ≥6.0% K2O and (2) ≤15 μm average particle diameter or a material which is decomposed to form aluminum oxide in a liquid material is transported to a temperature control site after the diameter of the droplet is controlled, the granular material having the controlled shape and structure is manufactured by adding an additive material satisfying [solubility of the granular material to the dispersion medium≤solubility of the additive material to the dispersion medium] in the dispersion medium.
