PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide: a fixing member that has low heat capacity (low density), high heat conductivity and low rubber hardness, thereby speedily starting up a fixing unit in an image forming apparatus; a method of manufacturing the fixing member; a rotating body for fixing; the fixing unit; and the image forming apparatus.;SOLUTION: The fixing member which is the rotating body for fixing integrating a heat source is composed of the rotating body for fixing unfixed toner to recording medium by transporting the recording medium carrying the unfixed toner to a nip section between the rotating body for fixing and a pressing section which is brought into a pressing contact with the rotating body for fixing through the recording medium.
