Core exhaust mixer with variable range for turbofan jet engines of supersonic aircraft

The mixer has a cylindrical pipe (24) with air inlet openings (30) externally distributed along the circumference of the pipe. Lobes (32) are mounted on the respective openings and movable between a closed position in which each lobe seals the respective opening, and an open position in which each lobe disengages the respective opening. The lobes have an azimuthal component along a same direction for providing a turning movement to external air admitted in a convergence zone, when the lobes are in the open position. The component is defined with respect to the cylindrical shape of the pipe.
