PPROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To precisely measure the relative position of objects from a plurality of images without spending much calculation cost. PSOLUTION: An imaging section 11 images the front side of a vehicle at a view point 1, a view point 2 and a view point 3, and forms an image in front of the vehicle at each position. A longitudinal edge line detecting section 12 detects a longitudinal edge line from each image, and detects a horizontal position (u) showing the X coordinate of each longitudinal edge line. A corresponding longitudinal edge line determining section 13 detects a corresponding longitudinal edge line between front images of each vehicle at the view points 1-3 detected by the longitudinal edge line detecting section 12. A position relation calculating section 16 calculates a position of the longitudinal edge line pSBi/SBwith respect to the view point 3, based on the horizontal position uSBi/SB,SBa/SBand focal distance (f) of the corresponding longitudinal edge line determined by the corresponding longitudinal edge line determining section 13.
