PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a production method for easily obtaining rare earth element-doped CeO2 particulates having high crystallinity and having excellent uniformity in a composition and particle diameters, and in which the particle diameters are small.;SOLUTION: The method includes: a stage where a melt comprising (RE2O3+CeO2)(RE is one or more kinds selected from rare earth elements other than Ce) of 5 to 50% by mol% expression based on oxide, RO (R is one or more kinds selected from the group consisting of Mg, Ca, Sr and Ba) of 10 to 50%, and B2O3 of 30 to 75% is obtained; a stage where the melt is rapidly cooled, so as to be an amorphous substance; a stage where rare earth element-doped CeO2 crystals are precipitated from the amorphous substance; and a stage where the above rare earth element-doped CeO2 crystals are separated from the obtained crystallized products in this order.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT
