PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To achieve a retrieval result which is free from omission and easily viewable, even when retrieving a database in which a plurality of analogous records concerning a same object exist, such as comprehensive list database (being comprised of bibliographic data possessed by each library) which is commonly used by a plurality of libraries.;SOLUTION: An identification candidate retrieval part 202 provides instructions to a keyword retrieval part 206, so that a record matching with a condition inputted from an input part 200 is extracted from the comprehensive list database 201, records having the high degree of similarity, among from extracted respective records, are grouped and registered with an identification relation file 205. If a request for document retrieval by a keyword or the like is made, a record including the corresponding keyword is retrieved from the comprehensive list database 201, in the retrieval results, only any one representative record is left among records registered with the identification relation file 205 as records belonging to the same group, and the rest is deleted.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO
