PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a cutting method for performing high efficiency processing without generating self-excitation vibration to a finish processing tool when a finish cutting processing is applied to a workpiece to shoulder-grind the workpiece (L-shaped cross section processing) after a rough cutting processing.;SOLUTION: Using parameters such as diameters of a rough processing tool and a finish processing tool, a cutting finish position of the tool in rough processing, a finish cutting area, and specification of a rotary tool (a number of cutting blades, cutting force characteristic value, compliance transmission function), a cutting force applied to the cutting blades of the rotary tool is found. Using the results, a characteristic equation which is a vibration system loop transmission function comprising the rotary tool and a workpiece is analyzed, so as to predict existence of self-excitation vibration of the finish processing tool after the rough processing in shoulder grinding processing. Thereby, the rotary tool stably actuates in finish processing, so as to shoulder-grind the workpiece at high processing efficiency.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT
