PPROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for screening an effective ingredient having melanogenesis-inhibiting effect and bleaching effect. PSOLUTION: The evaluation method of screening melanin amount produced in good accuracy comprises directly bringing a melanin-producing cell into contact with a test substance and analyzing expression amount of MITF-M gene in the cell, when screening a melanogenesis inhibiting ingredient.
