PPROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce a receiving signal sampling rate while maintaining a degree of accuracy in establishing a synchronization. PSOLUTION: A synchronous timing detector 18 is equipped with correlators 181a, 181b that generate correlation values CSBI/SB(t), CSBQ/SB(t) between input signals ISBD/SB(t), QSBD/SB(t) which have been sampled; interpolating filters 184a, 184b that generate interpolation values C2SBI/SB(t) and C2SBQ/SB(t) using a plurality of the correlation values CSBI/SB(t), CSBQ/SB(t) different in combinations of input signal sampling points; and a maximum value selector 186 and a threshold value determination unit 187 for detecting a synchronous timing based on the correlation values CSBI/SB(t), CSBQ/SB(t) and the interpolation values C2SBI/SB(t), C2SBQ/SB(t).
