PPROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a temperature protecting device which attains expansion in the operating range, while preventing excess temperature rise of coil or magnet. PSOLUTION: A coil temperature protecting portion 113 deduces the temperature rise of the stator coil of a motor 2, based on the history information stored in an operation history recording portion 112 and determine whether a predicted temperature with a lapse of predetermined time, based on the presumed temperature rise reaches a protection temperature, set beforehand; and when it is determined that the temperature has already reached the protection temperature, torque of the motor 2 becomes limited.
