PPROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a color gamut information creating apparatus, color gamut information creating method and color gamut information creating program capable of creating color gamut information accurately representing the color gamut of a device. PSOLUTION: In projection plane determination processing (S2), a hue angle ϕ is determined so that a difference between a maximum saturation of colorimetric values on one projection plane 64 and a maximum saturation in colorimetric values on another projection plane 64 adjacent to the one projection plane 64 becomes a predetermined value or less. Therefore, the projection planes 64 are suppressed from being set too closely and while saving a processing time and memory capacity to be used, the projection plane required for creating accurate color gamut information can be determined.
