After maintaining the soft magnetic characteristics high, the Co Fe based alloy for the soft magnetic film which is used for the perpendicular recording media and the like which is superior in weather resistance is offered. Being the Co Fe based alloy where the composition formula in atomic comparing ((Co Fe) Ni) is displayed with M1 M2 Ti, 5 X 80, 0 Y 25, 2 a 6, 2 b 10 and 0.5 c 10 consists of the remainder inevitable impurity, the M1 element of aforementioned composition formula (Zr, Hf and Y) from or more which are chosen the element of 1 genera or 2 genera and the M2 element of aforementioned composition formula (Ta and Nb) from is the Co Fe based alloy for the soft magnetic film which is the element of 1 genera or 2 genera which are chosen.
