There is provided a method for obtaining crystal form V of agomelatine of the formula (I), which comprises atomizing the solution using a spray drier with inert gas of the solvent containing agomelatine, in which agomelatine is dissolved in one of the solvents selected from ethanol, water, isopropyl ether, methanol, ethylacetate or acetate.
