A weather proofed writing stand for locating outdoors which is suitable for use during precipitation. The writing stand comprises a platform defining a writing surface for receiving a document for facilitating writing thereon. A supporting member coupled to the platform for spacing the platform from the ground. A water resistant cover is co-operable with the platform for protecting the writing surface from precipitation.
