The invention relates to a shield, such as the shield of a projectile comprising a pyrotechnic charge, which is positioned between the pyrotechnic part and the command and control part. The inventive shield comprises at least: one wall (21) which is pierced with a conduit (22); and an end cap (23) consisting of a support part (232) and a part (231) which is engaged in the conduit, such as to leave a space (25) between same and the wall of the conduit, said two parts being connected by a mechanically-brittle area (26). According to the invention, the support part (232) rests on the wall (21) at the front, such that the engaged part (231) separates from the support part under the effect of an external pressure in order to come into contact with the inner wall of the conduit (22) and close the space (25). The invention is particularly suitable for shells which detonate following a programmed delay after impact with the target.
