Process for the development of natural dye from the leaves of the plant terminalia catappa

The present invention provides a process for the extraction, purification and application of natural dye which gives different shades on cotton and silk yarns from plant source utilizing waste leaves of the plant Terminalia catappa. The process can be made applicable to the textile industries.
