The present invention relates to production of diamine oligomeric product from poly(ethyleneterephthalate) waste and its subsequent use as dyeing assistance in polyacrilonitrile fibre dyeing. More particularly, jt relates to the conversion of poly(ethyleneterephthalate) scrap to ethylene glycol and to useful amine functional products and its use as leveling agent in basic dyeing.
