This invention relates to the field of diagnostic assays. More particularly, this invention relates to a method that uses plate-indirect enzyme-linked immunosorbant assays (ELISA) for detecting a sample containing antibodies stimulated by B. melitensis field strain infection in serum and milk of goat and sheep .Currently, few ELISA methods are used to detect Brucella melitensis infection in animals, such as goats and sheep. However, there are a number of disadvantages associated with current ELISA techniques. Major disadvantage is the use of antigen which is not specific to the species i. e. Goats and Sheep. Accordingly, there is a need in the art for a improved plate-indirect enzyme-linked immunosorbant assays (ELISA) for Brucella melitensis that is rapid, more specific and easy to perform. Another object of the invention is to provide a test kit for carrying out detection between goats and sheep infected and non-infected against Brucella melitensis by an indirect immunoassay.
