PROCESS FOR PRODUCING WATER SUPERSATURATED WITH DISSOLVED OXYGEN

A process for producing water supersaturated with dissolved oxygen is provided which can increase the concentration of dissolved oxygen in water to a value far higher than a saturation concentration of dissolved oxygen. Water is placed in a circulatory passage constituted of a tank (10) and a circulatory connecting piping (12), and a pump (16) and stones (22) of a rock having a higher silicon dioxide content among igneous rocks are disposed in the circulatory connecting piping (12). The pump (16) is operated to circulate the water through the tank (10) and the circulatory connecting piping (12) while preventing the water from coming into contact with air. The water is thus brought into contact with the stones (22). By circulating the water and bringing the water into contact with the stones (22) of a rock having a higher silicon dioxide content among igneous rocks while preventing the water, which is moving through the circulatory passage, from coming into contact with air, water containing dissolved oxygen in a large amount can be produced.
