摘要
The present invention consists in a process for obtaining sodium carbonate from carbon dioxide resulting from the air and combustion gases from burners and inner combustion engines that use fossil fuels; the process uses an absorption by a chemical reaction with sodium hydroxide in order to acquire carbon credits according to the Kyoto Protocol related to the climate change and the byproduct marketing. The process is performed in an horizontal pulveriser absorber including coupling sections of 1 m and dispersion nozzles of ¼" for the absorption liquid which is an hydroxide sodium solution at 8%. The absorber has an affordable minimum industrial size, with a diameter of 0.85% m and three rows of nozzles, one in the upper portion and the remaining two rows located at the side portions in order to form a 90° angle with regard to the first row. Each row has 5 nozzles separated 20 cm one from each other, 15 nozzles per section. The sodium carbonate of the absorbing solution is concentrated up to the saturation point by means of flowing the same back to the deposit of the absorption liquid and restoring the consumed sodium hydroxide. Once the sodium carbonate is concentrated, it is heated in a heat exchanger and then crystallised in a basket crystalliser for separating the crystals, these latter elements being washed with water and dried with hot air for finally being milled down to the desired commercial size.
