The present invention discloses a new chemical system for Water Shut-off which permits the blockage of very permeable formation areas, thereby reducing the production and redirecting the injection water flow into the reservoirs. The system comprises organic products with relatively low viscosity which are pumped into the well (injector or production) in liquid state, and reach the desired consistency after a certain period of time, and according to the requirement of each treatment. The treament may vary from a rigid gel, used as sealant, which produce the complete water flow blockage, up to deformable gels, which produce only a partial blockage effect, thereby significantly reducing the water passage while allowing the oil passage. Such treatments are prepared in batches and are called Water Shut-off (WSO).
