Use of inhibitors of soluble epoxide hydrolase to synergize activity of COX and 5-LOX inhibitors

Disclosed is the use of an inhibitor of soluble epoxide hydrolase ("sEH") and an enzyme selective inhibitor of cyclo-oxygenase-2 (COX-2) in the preparation of a medicament for reducing pain and/or inflammation, wherein said medicament is formulated for co-administering said inhibitor of sEH and said selective inhibitor of COX-2, wherein said inhibitor of sEH has a primary pharmacophore selected from the group consisting of a urea, a carbamate, and an amide, and wherein said selective inhibitor of COX-2 is selected from the group consisting of celecoxib, valdecoxib, lumiracoxib, etoricoxib, and rofecoxib.
