Disclosed is a method for preparing a stable suspension of micronised particles of a solid organic compound (including representative compounds such as natamycin, nystatin, cocoa, coffee etc.), the method comprising the steps of: a) i) subjecting the solid organic compound to wet grinding at distinct pH values to provide suspensions of micronised particles of the solid organic compound each having a distinct pH value; or ii) subjecting the solid organic compound to wet grinding at one pH value and adjusting the pH of the resultant suspension after grinding to provide suspensions of micronised particles of the solid organic compound each having a distinct pH value; b) determining which of the obtained suspensions is stable; and c) preparing a stable suspension of micronised particles, as determined by step b), by means of wet grinding; wherein the suspension is free of surfactants, thickeners, poly-electrolytes or block copolymers; wherein a stable suspension is determined as having a mean particle size, over a period of at least 1 day after size reduction, that does not increase more than a factor 10. Also disclosed is a stable suspension and / or concentrated suspension of micronised particles obtained by the above method, and which may be used in the form of a paste, powder, film, coating or foil in the food or feed industry, in horticulture, in agriculture or in the pharmaceutical industry.
