摘要

Disclosed is a composition comprising dicarboxy-derivatised chitosan polymer cross-linked to an aldehyde-derivatised dextran polymer. N-succinyl chitosan is a preferred dicarboxy group to derivitise chitosan. The composition is in the form of a hydrogel that can be applied to surgical and other wounds. The composition assists in wound healing and helps prevent adhesions forming between neighbouring tissues that have been damaged.
