Disclosed herein is a microbicidal composition comprising: (a) N-methyl-1,2-benzisothiazolin-3-one; and (b) propylene glycol mono-laurate, wherein the ratio of propylene glycol mono-laurate to N-methyl-1,2-benzisothiazolin-3-one is from 1:0.286 to 1:0.0286.The microbicidal compositions disclosed herein can be used to inhibit the growth of microorganisms or higher forms of aquatic life (such as protozoans, invertebrates, bryozoans, dinoflagellates, crustaceans, mollusks, etc.)
