A method for removal of the cavity of the large echinococcus cyst of the segment IV in liver in open surgery comprises laparotomy, puncture of the cyst, aspiration of the fluid, disinfection with scolecid agents, aspiration of disinfectants, opening of the fibrous capsule, resection of chitin envelope, dissection of the superficial part of the fibrous capsule, and capitonage.
