A method for drainage of front and upper departments of pleural cavity after abdominal operations comprises the thoracotomy, implementation of the basic stage of operation, section of pectoral wall, in the projection of II intercostal space on the external edge of the large pectoral muscle to and guiding of the drain pipe into the pleura cavity. The drainage is disposed along the pectoral wall.
