METHOD FOR PREDICTING INTENSITY OF LOCAL INFLAMMATORY REACTION IN PERIODONTAL TISSUES IN PATIENTS WITH PERIODONTAL PATHOLOGY

A method for predicting the intensity of the local inflammatory reaction in the periodontal tissues in the patients with periodontal pathology comprises the immunological techniques namely the assessment of cytokines levels in the supernatant of 48-hour culture of periodontal cells. The ratio of pro-inflammatory interleukin-1 to anti-inflammatory interleukin-4 is useful for predicting the intensity of the inflammatory reaction and the course of the inflammation in the periodontal tissues.
