A method for rational complex therapy of patients with ischemic heart disease on the background of metabolic syndrome comprises the prescription of pathogenetic therapy. The pioglitazone is prescribed as drugs on the background of basic therapy (anti-aggregate, nitrate, beta-blocker and statin). The efficiency control is carried out by determination of lipid and carbohydrate metabolisms, level of systemic inflammation and insulin resistance.
