METHOD TO IMPROVE QUALITY OF SEED OF SIMPLE STERILE HYBRIDS OF SUGAR BEET

A method to improve the quality of seed of single sterile hybrids of sugar beet comprising selection of genotypes of a male sterile component and sterility fixing agents of the O-type according to productive properties, in particular crop yield and sugar content of roots, seed dioecism, fixing ability of the O-type and according to a character of germinability of seeds, crossing thereof for creating single sterile hybrids. Selection of genotypes of the O-type according to the character of germinability of seeds is carried out at a lowered temperature of +, which will provide creating the single sterile hybrids of the sugar beet, the seed of which will give even and uniform stands at sowing in early spring terms at lowered soil temperatures.
