A method for gyro-compassing by rate gyro signal consists in that the signal of rate-gyro pickup installed on the platform comes to calculating block where correction moment is formed, this is fed to stabilization motor that turns the platform till measured with rate-gyro pickup easterly component of the Earth rotation rate becomes equal to zero; correction of position of the platform with respect to horizon is carried out by means of signals of accelerometers installed on the platform; at that by signals of three one-component accelerometers installed on the body of the device one determines the values of accelerations of pitching that affect the object,,,, by means of which and angles of inclination of base,,, determined by sensors of angles installed on cardan suspension of the platform, components of accelerations affecting the platform caused by pitching are calculated and compensated in the signals of accelerometers installed on the platform.
