Method and kit for the molecular detection of Tropheryma whipplei. # The present invention relates to a method for the detection of Tropheryma whipplei bacteria in an isolated biological sample by amplification with pairs of specific primers of one or more fragments of the nucleotide sequences. SEQ ID NO: 1, SEQ ID NO: 2 and SEQ ID NO: 3, where said sequences correspond, respectively, to partial sequences of the nucleotide sequence of the gene encoding the 65 kDa HSP (Heat shock protein) protein, of the nucleotide sequence of NCDRC (Non coding degenerated repeat cluster) and the nucleotide sequence of the gene that encodes a protein of the WISP family (WNT1 inducible signaling pathway) of Tropheryma whipplei. Preferably the amplification is carried out by means of multiplex PCR. The detection of amplification products is carried out by means of specific probes complementary to said products. Also, the present invention relates to a kit comprising primers and specific probes for the detection of Tropheryma whipplei.
