Encoding method and video compression with JPEG 2000, said video consists of a sequence of frames, comprising the following steps being: #i) establish a partition size and divide each frame into partitions; #II) compressing (100) each frame following the JPEG 2000 format such as partition size set; #iii) compare partition to partition (110) each uncompressed frame (20) with a reference frame (21), and mark those partitions that have changed between each frame and the reference frame above a preset threshold; #iv) updating (120) said reference frame overwriting each partition marked in the previous step with the partition that has changed the uncompressed frame; #v) generating a flow of information output (130) formed by those in JPEG 2000 compressed partitions that have changed for each frame; and # reiterate the steps iii) -v) for each frame of the sequence.
