System and method for cataloguing roads using wireless technology, comprising: (a) a plurality of wireless nodes, at least one of which is located at each element to be catalogued (1); and (b) a central node (3) configured to read the wireless nodes and to catalogue the road, characterized in that each wireless node comprises at least one memory (4) and wireless communication means (5, 11) and in which the memory (4) encodes alphanumeric data relating to the features of the element to be catalogued (1); and in which the central node (3) comprises a wireless-data reader (6) with a transmission antenna and data processing means (7) that are configured using a database (8) to generate the catalog documentation (9).
