Method for increasing the life of a pharmaceutical composition comprising a GLP-1 peptide, a selected pharmaceutically acceptable orthophosphate buffer, TRIS, glycine, N-glycylglycine, citrate sodium acetate, sodium carbonate, glycylglycine, histidine, lysine, arginine, sodium phosphate and sodium citrate or mixtures thereof, and pharmaceutically acceptable preservative selected from phenol, m-cresol, methyl p-hydroxybenzoate, propyl p-hydroxybenzoate, 2-phenoxyethanol, butyl p-hydroxybenzoate, 2-phenylethanol, benzyl alcohol, chlorobutanol, and thiomersal, or mixtures thereof, characterized in that said pharmaceutical composition is prepared from a peptide product mass has been produced by drying a solution or suspension of said glucagon-like peptide having a pH in the range of 8.1 to 12.5, wherein the pH of said pharmaceutical composition is at least 0.8 pH units lower than the pH of the solution or suspension peptide in dried mass.
