In vitro method to predict whether a patient with rheumatoid arthritis would respond to a treatment with a TNFα blocking agent, said method comprising determining the level of expression of eight genes in a biological sample of said patient, in which said genes are EPS15 ( SEQ ID No. 1), HLA-DPB1 (SEQ ID No. 3), AKAP9 (SEQ ID No. 5), RASGRP3 (SEQ ID No. 7), MTCBP-1 (SEQ ID No. 9 ), PTNP12 (SEQ ID No. 11), MRPL22 (SEQ ID No. 13) and RPS28 (SEQ ID No. 15), said method further comprising the step of comparing the level of combined expression of said genes with reference values obtained from the groups of patients who respond and do not respond.
