Procedure for predicting the survival of a patient suffering from NSCLC to a chemotherapy treatment based on cisplatin or carboplatin and providing a complete or partial response to chemotherapy based on cisplatin or carboplatin, said procedure comprising the stage of determining the state of methylation of a nucleic acid encoding 14-3-3 sigma in a biological sample of the patient, in which the presence of methylation is indicative of a greater survival of said patient as a response to said chemotherapy treatment.
