A method to investigate the fate of a test compound containing at least an active core NMR, in which said active core NMR is 13C and said test compound is a 13C organic compound comprising an artificially enriched to an abundance abundance of at least 5%, said process comprising: - administering the test compound to a biological system that is to study its destination, wherein said system is a whole animal, - hyperpolarizing active nuclei NMR samples from the system at time intervals by polarization transfer using dynamic nuclear polarization (DNP) solid state effected by a DNP agent; and - analyzing each of the hyperpolarized samples by 13C NMR spectroscopy liquid.
