A membrane biofilm (MBfR) reactor device (100) comprising: a central core tube (130) having a wall defining a lumen and one or more perforations in the wall being a perforated region (117), having the core tube, in addition, a first open end (146) and a second substantially closed end (144) a plurality of hollow filaments (132), each filament having a wall defining an inner lumen, an outer surface, a first end and a second end; and a casing (110) having a cavity, a first end cap (145), a second end cap (144), and at least one effluent port (148), which is in communication with the outer surface of said hollow fragments (132 ); in which the first open end (146) of the core tube (130) is sealed in the first end cap (145), the perforated region extending inside the central cavity of the housing (110), and the cited the first open end (146) of the core tube (130) has an accessory for connection to an influent liquid power supply, and in which the device further comprises at least one gas inlet port (115) of Clean-up cleaning, which is in communication with the outer surfaces of said hollow filaments (132) and in which the first ends of the plurality of hollow filaments (132) are open and sealed at the first extreme end (145), and the second ends of the plurality of hollow filaments are open and sealed in the second end cap (144)
