we describe a method for treatment of aqueous effluents containing at least methyl tertiary butyl ether (mtbe) and mu00e9thyltertioamyl ether (tame) in order to reduce the concentration of the ether.we characterized the grown under aerobic conditions in a mycobacterium austroafricanum i - 864 in the presence of a growth substrate containing the ether is degraded and the likethe bacteria to light end products of degradation, carbon dioxide and water. the results are improved in the presence of yeast extract.application in the treatment of an aquifer.
