AIRPORT FEATURE DISPLAY SYSTEM AND DATA INTERCHANGE METHOD FOR CONFORMAL DISPLAY

An airport feature display system for aircraft provides visual guidance cuesand awareness to track the specified taxi path on a HUD (14). The guidancecues include symbology representative of the position of selected airportfeatures such as runway (22) and taxiway edges (22a/24), taxi routes (25), andairport signage. Data representative of the airport features is communicatedbetween aircraft systems using a data interchange method that facilitatesefficient throughput of the large quantities of data required to represent theairport features.
