USE OF PHYLLOCLADANE DITERPENOIDS FOR PLANT GROWTH PROMOTION AND ALLEVIATION OF GROWTH RETARDANT ALLELOCHEMICALS, AND METHOD THEREFOR

The present invention provides plant growth-promoting activities of naturalplant active constituent calliterpenone and its derivatives belonging to thegroup phyllocladane diterpenoids. These phytochemicals and derivatives exhibitremarkable growth promoting activities on plant roots, shoots and promote seedgermination both in monocotyledonous and dicotyledonous plants. Thesephytomolecules possess the antagonistic activity against allelochemicals ofplant growth retardant nature and hence can be used to alleviate theirdetrimental effects.
