A method of monitoring and controlling plant operations, which receive inputsignals from sensors monitoring parameters of plant operation to generateoutput signals to actuators , comprising ; reducing the input signals to aselected group of input functions ; reducing the output signals to a selectedgroup of output functions ;processing the input signals using FPGA togenerate the output signals . Tye invention also relates to the platform andsystem embodying the method.
