This invention is directed to displaying a still image of a past broadcast content that is desired by a user, while saving the power consumption amount and the storage capacity that is used. A moving image acquiring unit (1a) acquires moving image data to be used for displaying moving images. A storing unit (1f) stores still image data to be used for displaying still images. A still image generating unit (1b) generates, on the basis of the moving image data acquired by the moving image acquiring unit (1a), the still image data, which are extracted from the moving images and which are to be used for displaying still images, and causes the storing unit (1f) to store the generated still image data. An input accepting unit (1c) accepts an input of user's selection manipulation for a still image that is derived from the still image data stored in the storing unit (1f) and that is to be displayed. A control unit (1d) causes a display information output unit (1e) to output the display data to be used for displaying the still image selected by the selection manipulation accepted by the input accepting unit (1c), and erases still image data corresponding with given conditions.
