The invention relates to a hearing aid for directing ambient sound to the ear of a person, especially to a hearing aid for people hard of hearing. The inventive system is characterized by the following features: (a) a central unit (4) comprising an amplifier (30) and a power source for supplying current for the amplifier (30); (b) at least one auditory sound sensor (16), mounted separately from the central unit (4) and being coupled to the central unit (4) for the purpose of signal transmission; (c) and at least one microphone (14), mounted separately from the central unit (4) and being coupled to the central unit (4) for the purpose of signal transmission and being located in the vicinity of the ear of the person using the hearing aid (2).
