The present invention relates to a method for measuring the ratio of intima thickness to media thickness in a carotid artery using an ultrasound image. More particularly, the present invention relates to a method for measuring the ratio of intima to media thickness in the carotid artery using an ultrasound image, the method being capable of separately detecting an intima start line, a relative media start line and an adventitia start line in the carotid artery through still or moving images of the blood vessel captured by an ultrasound imaging apparatus, and then measuring a ratio of intima thickness to media thickness using the respective lines detected.
