The invention discloses a data subscription method and system based on Lightweight Directory Access Protocol (LDAP) messages, wherein the method includes: a directory service protocol processing client subscribes information from a directory service protocol processing server (22); and when the information subscribed by the directory service protocol processing client satisfies an issue condition, the directory service protocol processing server issues the subscribed information to the directory service protocol processing client (23). The invention solves the problem of lack of data subscription and notification processing in the LDAP directory service application system, provides new services for the operators adopting the LDAP directory service application system, and thus improves the user satisfaction for services provided by the operators.
