摘要

Disclosed are encoding and decoding methods using a code-rate-adaptive low density parity code, and an encoder and a decoder using the same. The encoding method using a code-rate-adaptive low density parity code comprises the steps of: generating check nodes which are the same in number as the number of variable nodes to be encoded using a PEG algorithm, and adding temporary variable nodes to the variable nodes; and connecting the added variable nodes to the check nodes, reducing the number of check nodes by the number of the temporary variable nodes. Accordingly, girth increases to delay error floor phenomena, so that data can be more efficiently transmitted when channel environments are favorable.
