The present invention relates to a novel square-analogous staple fiber which is characterized by the four-hole hollow rectangular cross section. The four-hole hollow staple fiber of the present invention has the advantages of the high elastic recovery after water-washing, etc. The said four-hole hollow staple fiber has a fineness of about 2 to about 25 deniers and a hollowness ratio of about 35%. The four-hole hollow staple fiber of the present invention may be used for filling materials, mattresses, filtering materials, non-woven fabrics, etc.
