The method involves forming an individual drive in workstations (2) with an electric motor and an associated control unit. The electric motor is exchanged by a generator drive during failure of supply voltage, and production data of the workstations is constantly stored in a volatile memory. A workstation control is supplied with voltage for a long time by the individual drive until the production data from the volatile memory is secured in a non-volatile memory during failure of supply voltage. An independent claim is also included for a textile machine for creating cross-wound spools.
